Im Not a Happy Bunny

I wanted to stitch the EMS 2008 Challenge in NeedleNecessities 158 which is a colour I love. So I sent for 4 which is what it would need. Unfortunately when it came it was a lot lighter than the original one I had. I made a start but was not too happy with it. I tried using my darker thread for the leaves and that looked much better but unfortunately though I may have enough of it to do the roses and the leaves in the top section I know that will be about all it will do and when it comes to the alphabets I think they will just disappear in the pale thread. I did this much but I just know I am not going to be happy with it and its a big project to undertake if you are not going to like the end results so I have spent this morning unpicking it all (sob sob sob).

Not sure what I am going to stitch this evening but I think I have sorted out what thread I am going to get now to do this one in so thats something.

Oh well life will throw these little spanners in the works lol.

Hope you are all having much more luck with your stitching weekend.

I´m very sorry that you´ve had to unpick everything you had stitched. This is the trouble with the hand-dyed threads, lovely colours but so difficult to find the right colours. Hope you have luck in finding something you like. Have a wonderful evening.

Oh no! How frustrating! Like you say though, if you know you wont be happy with it, its better sorting it now.

sorry to hear your fiber issue. dye lots are difficult to match at times.

Recently I bought some new GAST fiber for Moon Garden as the 'willow' was so yellow -- it had no green in it at all. Was so close to the other yellow color, I wasn't able to tell the difference.

I so understand what you mean.

I sent an E-mail to LNS & asked them to look for Willow with more greens & when the arrived in the mail -- I was pleased.

I'm sure I will find something else to do with the yellow skein -- but , wish the dye lots were similar in the first place : )

I like the look you have - very antique. but I know how frustrating it can be when something doesn't look quite right.

Sorry to hear about the problems with the threads and that you've had to frog. It's so frustrating when that happens.

Sorry about having to frog, but it does look stunning. I had the same thing happen to me I ordered some Gloriana silks from sew and so and they didn't have all of them in stock and when the second batch came they were a totally different colours so I e-mailed them and sent them all back and they sent 3 back the same shade free postage as well

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. I've been looking at your stitching and it is just beautiful. Barnabee's Quest is just stunning.

Sorry about the threads being lighter than what you wanted, but it is better to change now than get half way done and put it in a UFO pile never to come out again ;)
