Dangerous Cake - be warned....

This is copied direct from the recipe as written on the Crafty Natter forum. Ozzie and I shared it and he couldnt finish his and I must be honest and admit I struggled though it was delicious. I think it would be better shared with two or three others. Also I made mine in a small pudding basin as all the pictures I have seen done in mugs its gone over the top (I didn't want to waste any). The other thing I would say is it does need cream, ice cream, custard or such as like most chocolate cakes it was a little on the dry side.

One other thing - I was warned that the cooking time seemed to be too long, my microwave is only a 700 watt and 3 mins seemed just right.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons cake flour(that's plain flour, not self-raising) 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons baking cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips(optional) a small splash of vanilla essence 1 coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
Enjoy

Well, I couldn't resist! Yep, I made one! The texture was not like a "normal" cake, but it sure had a nice chocolate flavor, and was moist like a brownie. I added a few chopped pecans...good! Now I see what you mean by dangerous! LOL

Colly is great company isn't she?! We always have a good laugh when we visit her and Richard. In fact we're coming over to see her for the afternoon on the 24th Aug. to give her her birthday present. Those flowers are beautiful!

The Quiltmaker is coming along well.

That looks great, but calling it "Dangerous Cake" makes me think of Brainiac and Vic Reeves going "whatever you do, don't accidently let three sticks of dynamite and a string of fairy lights slip into the microwave at the same time"

PS. Your word verification thingy just made me type in "hupeluja", do you think it tried the cake?
